Medicaid Contract Support

Client Challenge:

Cirdan’s client was a Medicaid health plan participating in an annual contract renewal process with a state Medicaid Agency. Cirdan’s client did not have actuarial staff in-house.

Our Solution:

• Cirdan provided actuarial expertise throughout the contract renewal
• Cirdan attended all meetings with the state Medicaid agency with our client
• Cirdan prepared written comments on the assumptions made by the agency’s consulting actuary to support proposed rate actions
• Cirdan conducted independent analyses using the client’s experience of the expected financial impact of benefit changes such as changes to the prescription drug program

The Result:

Cirdan’s client was prepared to meet with the agency on actuarial issues within the contract and was able to complete its contract renewal.
